FAQ

  • CAN YOU SPLIT BILLS?
    We can split bills evenly up to 4 transactions however we are unable to split bills by individual items or custom amounts. Please be aware we do not split bills or take separate payments for group bookings above 4 guests. For large group bookings, our wait staff are able to bring our mobile payment device to the table so guests can order and pay for their own drinks separately. Also, you are able to order and pay separately at the bar.
  • CAN I MAKE A TENTATIVE BOOKING?
    Due to the high volumes of enquiries and demand, all bookings must be confirmed with valid credit card details – name, number, expiry date & CCV within 48 hours of booking. We highly recommend confirming the reservation at your earliest convenience to avoid missing out.
  • CAN I JUST WALK IN?
    Absolutely! Our covered outdoor area is dedicated solely for walk-in's. Due to avilability, we may not be able to get you a table straight away and wait times will vary. We strongly recommend booking to ensure you get a table.
  • CAN I BRING MY OWN CAKE?
    You are welcome to bring in your own cake. There is a cakeage fee of $3.50 per person or a $20 maximum for large groups. This fee includes storage of your cake, as well as after you have blown out the candles, our chef will cut up and plate your cake. From there our waitstaff will serve the cake to the table.
  • CAN I BYO
    Unfortunately, due to health and safety regulations, as well as licensing, asides from cakes we do not allow any BYO food or beverage items into the venue.
  • CAN I BRING DECORATIONS?
    You are welcome to bring in balloons and other decorative items for your event. No confetti or sparklers are allowed in the venue. Please confirm with your bookings manager any items to be brought into the venue. All decorative items must be removed from the venue at the conclusion of the event. No storage is available onsite for these items. Delivery & Collection timings will apply.
  • DO YOU CATER FOR DIETARY REQUIREMENTS?
    At Rice Queen we pride ourselves on our ability to cater for most allergens and dietary requirements. The nature of Asian cuisines also means that most of our menu is gluten and lactose free. We also have a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan options to choose from. We have very limited options for allergens such as garlic, onion and chilli.
  • WHAT IF I’M ALLERGIC?
    With prior notice our chefs and bar staff can work with you to ensure that the upmost care is taken when preparing your meal or drink. We will require anyone with the potential of suffering from an anaphylactic reaction to any allergen to bring a prescribed EpiPen. Due to the nature of Asian cuisine, it is precaution that we prefer to take.
  • CAN I BOOK KARAOKE?
    Karaoke is unable to be booked online. For all karaoke enquiries, please email bookings@ricequeen.com.au alternatively, you can call us on 03 94196624
  • DO I NEED TO PAY A DEPOSIT?
    No, you do not need to pay a deposit when booking with us. When booking, a hold of $25 per person will be placed on your credit card, it is not a deposit and will ONLY be charged in the event of a late cancellation or no show. The security is released upon your arrival.
  • WILL MY CREDIT CARD BE CHARGED?
    We require credit card details to secure all bookings. A hold of $25 per person will be placed on your credit card, it is not a deposit and will ONLY be charged in the event of a late cancellation or no show. The security is released upon your arrival. Please be aware that this amount does not go towards your bill on the day of your booking.
  • WHAT IF I’M RUNNING LATE?
    Rice Queen is an extremely busy restaurant, during peak periods our tables are always in high demand. We will hold your table for 15 minutes, if we are unable to contact you, your table may be given away and your booking will be placed on a waitlist. Please be aware if you are late, we are unable to extend your booking past the designated sitting time
  • WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL?
    You can cancel your booking yourself through your confirmation email. Alternatively, you can email bookings@ricequeen.com.au or call us on 03 9419 6624. Please be aware, we require 24 hours notice to avoid a cancellation fee of $25 per person.
